Become a comment wizard

How often do you comment on other blogs per day? If it’s less than 2 you should get snapping on a new approach. If you look at most of the successful bloggers you will find them very oftenly on other blogs. Why? Because they know the secrete that makes or breaks a blogger!

Blogging is about being part of a community. No blog is an island to it’s self, and you as a blogger shouldn’t be ether. Get involved in your blogging community by commenting on your neighbor’s blogs.

So how do I get started?

Find blogs that you can identify with. Weather it’s because the blogger writes about the same topics as you or because he/she has the same style of writing as yourself. Find a post that you like and fire up your brain.

What should I comment?

Before you comment make sure you have read the entire post. Then ask yourself what could I add to this discussion. weather it be a question or a comment make sure you add to the value of the blogger’s work. Take your time and try to be insightful, nobody is rushing you.

What NOT to comment

It’s a really good idea not to say something like ‘I like your blog’ or ‘good post” Especially if that’s all you say. It shows that you are really lazy… or just a spam bot!

Should I disagree?

Sure If you find that you don’t agree with what the blogger has posted you should feel free to comment that. Make sure you use tact and point out your thinking on the subject. Also note the blogger may remove your comment, but they may also thank you for adding to their discussion.

Think of commenting as making new friends because that is what you are really doing.

I comment a lot more than 2 blogs a day! Commenting is the best strategy I have found because it not only builds traffic but as you continually return to comment each site you are building relationships with the owners.

Yes leave a comment in other blog can build traffic and also get many friends, it’s the other way to get response from other people, but some people just leave a spam.

Leaving spam like comments is just a real waste of time. I agree.

Commenting on posts does really build up traffic on my own sites. Sometimes finding something that will really benefit the conversation can be tough but well worth it to be part of the community.
Of course it really helps when the blogger promotes conversation by asking questions of the readers and encouraging comments.

I use to comment more then 10 post daily. But why peoples this great post or something like short appropriation is always spam.
Sometimes i found new topics which is full of new information but i have nothing to comment on this because of limited knowledge. Then i think at least blogger deserve appropriation.Anywayz i never use such comments as i know these will be considered as spam.

Thanks. That’s great info for a newbie like me. I even like how you segmented your blog clearly… I’m still trying to get mine that focused. I guess it’s all a work in progress.

I was just thinking… How often do you post? How many do you do each day? Do you bookmark a set of sites? What’s precisely your system? A newbie like me would really appreciate specifics, if it’s not too much to ask.

I don’t post here very often, the plan was to get others involved but that never really happened. so there really is no plan for this site but to just let it be for now.

I do blog elsewhere and tend to post almost daily.

If you would like to blog here just let me know and I’ll set you up an account…. or you can register with the link below.

but its better to post comment on such blogs where you can have some search engine juice, Means try to comment on those blogs which link back to your blog through comment.

Commenting is tough work, there’s no doubt about that – because to do it properly you have to step back, take a moment, and see if there’s really anything of *actual worth* that you can contribute to the conversation.

Thanks for the nice Tips, I like to comment lots on other blogs, some times I do it to leave a link behind for the new posts of my blogs.

and some other time I just comment because I feel to say something to the authors or the readers, so.. what I am going to say here is that I like your blog.

Well, posting lame comments is what I try to avoid because I don’t want other people who visit my blog to post useless ones, too.

For now I comment on about 3-4 blogs so I can easily keep track of them. Going beyond 5 seems a bit spammy to me. But that’s just my opinion (and coz I’m not the type of person who likes to keep track, LOL).

Comments from the right approach are a great thing for everyone, but if you’re only commenting to get a link, others will see you for what you are. Take the time to read the article, then contribute ONLY if you feel you can contribute something worthwhile. Do that and we all win.

Keith@Norman Rockwell Art (1 comments.) September 6th, 2009 at 4:57 pm

The ideal comment to leave is one where you feel compelled to join the conversation. Anything less just frustrates the blog host. Everybody who reads your comment should feel compelled to comment further. That is the kind of comment I welcome on my blogs.

I am expanding the commenting I do on blogs. I have seen a rise in traffic recently, especially organic traffic from search engines, and I feel that my additional commenting has a lot to do with it.

You also need to be sure to comment on relevant sites. If you have a site about dogs, don’t comment on a blog about Internet Marketing and so on.
