When it comes to doing what I need to do – and on most days that includes blogging, online marketing, and writing – I find that it is often hard to figure out how to balance things out.

Some days, the scale is tipped further towards writing, especially if I have a deadline. On others, I realize that I’ve been neglecting my blogs and need to tend to those – so I spend more time blogging. On others, I research keywords for almost the entire day – which has me set for a week’s worth of writing.

I’d like to think that I finally found a good balance, but as I sit here writing this blog post I’m aware that I have a deadline, a few neglected blogs, and I badly need to research some keywords for another project I’m doing.

One thing that helps me is that I begin each day thinking about the five things I really need to get done, and I make sure I do those things first. This helps me plan my schedule so I do what I need to do, and nothing less.
